Project Analyst, Energy Team
Opinion Dynamics, a market leader committed to providing cutting-edge strategic research, evaluation, and consulting services, seeks a Project Analyst to help in the evaluation of energy efficiency programs, as well as market research in the energy field. In this role, the Project Analyst will work with Opinion Dynamics' current electric and gas utility clients throughout the country. This position is based in Waltham, Massachusetts and is open immediately.
The ideal candidate for the Project Analyst position will have strong critical thinking, writing, and analysis capability; excellent organizational skills; an ability to think out of the box; and the capability to work both independently and in groups. Experience with program evaluation, statistics, survey design, or energy efficiency and energy systems is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Creating and contributing to drafts of in-depth interview guides, focus group guides, telephone and internet surveys, memos, reports, and other materials.
Conducting in-depth interviews with energy efficiency program staff, contractors providing energy efficient equipment to residential and business customers, and other organizations involved in delivering energy efficiency programs.
Testing and monitoring surveys currently in the field, and checking survey data to ensure data quality.
Organizing, reviewing, and cleaning data sets for analysis, including the development of sample files for the team's survey efforts.
Analyzing survey and other data sources using SPSS and/or STATA.
Providing administrative and logistical support as needed to field staff conducting evaluation activities.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and under time pressures.
Supporting project managers and other team members as needed.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree, preferably in public policy, economics, statistics, or a related field.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of and ability to use SPSS or STATA statistical software.
Preferred:
At least 2 year of professional experience in the energy efficiency, public policy, environmental consulting, or market research fields.
Academic or professional experience with energy efficiency or energy related issues.
Experience developing surveys and similar data collection instruments.
Experience manipulating complex data sets, and cleaning and analyzing data.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and under time pressures.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
