Project Manager
Opinion Dynamics, a leading consulting firm specializing in market research, is looking for a project manager to manage energy efficiency evaluation projects out of our Waltham, MA, headquarters. The Project Manager manages the day-to-day activities for evaluation research efforts and is responsible for meeting deadlines, interfacing with the client on project issues, and developing high quality actionable deliverables that meet client needs. Project managers understand the talents of others both up and down the organization, and work to ensure the appropriate resources are brought to bear on each project effort. The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time and on budget. The Project Manager also manages and mentors staff-delegating and coordinating multiple concurrent client initiatives.
Project Manager Core Tasks:
Ensuring quality deliverables
Client management
Managing the critical path of projects and the budget
Project administration
Staff development and mentorship
Developing research plans
Business development/marketing
Essential Duties and Responsibilies:
Work closely with clients to define complex research objectives as well as maintain strong positive ties with the client throughout a project
Design research plans
Select the most appropriate research methodology
Create a detailed analytical plan
Oversee the design of data collection instruments that fit the analytical plan
Write key parts of reports, and provide specific instructions to analysts to help write reports that communicate results in the most understandable way
Review the analyses and writing of others-ensuring readability, accuracy, logical consistency and value-add
Communicate proactively with senior staff, asking for assistance on strategy and deliverables as necessary
Summarize research data, identify key patterns and findings and translate it into decision making information
Use ethical evaluation practices at all times
Present research findings to clients and at industry conferences
Maintain project schedules and budgets - accurately assess resources and time required to complete each aspect of research approach
Manage and mentor staff
Develop proposals that provide research solutions
Author conference papers and industry white papers
Requirements:
Exemplary client management skills
Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills
Strong project management skills
Experience within evaluation, market research, and/or energy industry
Knowledge of a wide array of research methodologies
Expertise with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong desire and ability to mentor team members
Experience with SPSS and/or STATA
Attention to detail
